On March 11, 2011, a massive earthquake and devastating tsunami struck Japan. In June 2014, three years after this horrific event, I traveled there and captured these mass destruction images in the coastal city of Ishinomaki.

As of June 17, 2011, a total of 3,097 deaths were confirmed in Ishinomaki due to the tsunami, with 2,770 unaccounted deaths. Approximately 29,000 city residents lost their homes.

Then and now.
